Reviewing AI generated ads before they reach a client

AI tools make drafts quickly, and a draft can be wrong in ways that look convincing. The review checks facts, brand, people and rights before an ad goes out.

Check the facts first

  • Every number, date, price, award and comparison: is there a source the client can show?
  • Results and performance: remove any claim the client has not measured or cannot prove.

Check the brand

  • Voice, banned words and product names, spelled the way the client writes them.
  • Images: the right product, the right colors and no packaging features the product does not have.

Check the people

  • Any real person or likeness in an image or video needs written permission from that person.
  • Testimonials and voices must come from real customers with consent. Generated ones are labeled or not used.

Check the rules and the rights

  • Look up the current ad policies of each platform on the day of review, since they change, and send restricted categories to a second reviewer.
  • Check who holds the output rights under the tool terms and the client contract, and note the tool and version used.
Made-up scenario: a generated kitchen photo shows a blender the client does not sell. The reviewer rejects the image, the brief asks for the real product, and the rejection is logged with the reason.

Record the decision

  • Approved, changed or rejected, with the reviewer's name, the date and what was wrong, not only that it changed.
Keep the prompt, the output and the final version together, and link them to the ad's creative ID so the approval can be traced later.
