How to run an ad account audit in one hour

A full audit can take days. A focused hour answers the questions that cost the most money when they go wrong.

Before you start

  • Use read-only access or a copy of the data, never a shared login. Open the account sheet with the break-even lines and the naming rules.

Block 1: access and tracking (15 minutes)

  • Access: who has it, at what level, and whether each person is still on the client's team. See the access request process.
  • Tracking: compare the platform purchase count with the store's orders for one recent day. A gap is an incident until it is explained.
  • Tags: check that the UTM parameters are on the live links that carry paid traffic.

Block 2: structure and spend (15 minutes)

  • Check names against the agreed naming rule, and find campaigns with no owner or no spend in the last 30 days.
  • Compare spend with the monthly plan and the reserve left, using the budget pacing guide.

Block 3: creative (10 minutes)

  • Find the ads that have run longest and check ad frequency on each. Note any test with no end date.

Block 4: the written result (20 minutes)

  • One page: what was checked, the result of each block, and the three fixes in order.
  • Mark every finding as checked, not checked or not measured. A finding with no measurement is not a zero.
Made-up scenario: during the tracking check the store showed 42 orders for the day and the platform showed 31. The gap came from a tag that fired on only one page type. It went to the top of the fix list and was logged as an incident.

The hour does not replace a full review. It finds the problems that need action this week.

Run the next client review from one screen.

We open one agency at a time, with your own accounts connected read-only first.
